Wat is nieuw

KL studio is in alpha — things move fast and your data may be reset. Here's what changed recently, newest first.

2026-08-17Sneller compileren van lange documenten

Long documents recompile a lot faster. Editing a real paper now reaches the preview in roughly 0.6 s, where rebuilding it from scratch takes 2–3 s — about four times quicker, and the gap grows with the length of the document. The comparison page has the measured numbers and the method.

2026-07-30Schrijven in Typst

Drafts can be written in Typst as well as LaTeX, on the same compile loop with the same live preview, and #cite( autocompletes from your library. Typst support is alpha — editing the source and previewing works today. There are Typst guides for tables, math, figures, charts, and bibliographies.

2026-07-10Een concept delen via een link

Share a draft with a link, for viewing or for editing, including with people who don't have an account yet — so a supervisor can read or comment without signing up first.

2026-06-25PubMed-zoeken + snelkoppelingen voor bronnen

PubMed is now searchable from Cmd-K — +pubmed crispr for biomedical & life-sciences literature, abstract and all. Every source also has a short alias, so +pm, +ax, +oa, and +cr stand in for pubmed, arxiv, openalex, and crossref. PubMed data is courtesy of the U.S. National Library of Medicine; abstracts may be copyrighted by their publishers.

2026-06-04Publieke alfa gestabiliseerd

Signing up now requires an email and a password, so you can log back in from any device. Each account has a ceiling on how much can be embedded, libraries you trash are now permanently removed after 30 days, and the top bar stays put when a page scrolls. This “What's New” page is new too.

2026-06-04Citatieverrijking, zichtbaar

When you import a paper, KL now seeds cites links from its reference list in the background. The library bar shows a quiet “resolving references…” line with a running count while that happens, and goes silent once it's done.

2026-06-03Zoeken in externe bronnen

Pull papers straight from Cmd-K with the + prefix — +arxiv …, +openalex …, +crossref …. Results import into the focal library as hollow (imported, not-yet-digested) nodes, ready to read. (PubMed and the short aliases came later — see the entry above.)
